EPA Names Technical Consumer Products Inc. 2013 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year

Technical Consumer Products Inc. earns award for protecting the environment through manufacturing energy-efficient products

Aurora, Ohio, March 5th, 2013 – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Technical Consumer Products Inc. (TCP) as a 2013 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and educating consumers about energy efficiency. TCP’s accomplishments will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 26, 2013.

TCP, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2001, will be honored for its leadership in manufacturing products that earn the ENERGY STAR, the government-backed symbol of energy efficiency. In 2012, TCP made concentrated efforts to improve the efficiency of its LED lighting line and earned ENERGY STAR qualifications for 104 LED products. TCP’s future efforts will include an expansion of green LED products and continued promotion of energy efficient lighting.

Over the last 20 years, with help from ENERGY STAR, American families and businesses have saved more than $230 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 1.8 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

“Our partnership with ENERGY STAR allows us to provide high quality products that help our customers save energy and money,” said TCP CEO Ellis Yan. “We see growing customer demand for high-performing products that also help protect the environment.”

The 2013 Partner of the Year Awards are given to manufacturers and retailers that successfully promote and deliver ENERGY STAR qualified products, saving consumers money and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Award winners are selected from the nearly 20,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program.
