TCP NLC Products End-of-Life Policy
Effective: August 14, 2024
Purpose
This End-of-Life Policy (“EOL Policy”) explains how TCP, Inc. (“TCP”, “we” or “us”) handles products that reach the end of their product life cycle. By End of Life (“EOL”) we mean the TCP course of action for the discontinuation of TCP devices, services (including subscriptions) and software (“Products”). The EOL process consists of a series of technical and business milestones and activities that, once completed, make the Product obsolete. Once obsolete, the Product will no longer be sold, improved, maintained, or supported in the ordinary course of business.
Our Products may reach the end of their product life cycle for a number of reasons, including technological innovations driving changes, shifting market demands, or the aging of Products over time that are replaced by functionally improved technologies. With this in mind, this EOL Policy describes TCP’s intended communication and transition plans for discontinued Products, to help manage end-of-life transitions and to explain the role TCP can play in helping you migrate to alternative TCP devices and services.
This EOL Policy is intended to describe TCP’s general approach to the EOL process. Any questions arising in the interpretation or application of this EOL Policy shall be as determined by TCP in its sole discretion.
- TCP will typically provide a public EOL notice for a Product on tcpi.com at www.tcpi.com/eol. We encourage you to visit this site regularly as it contains useful information regarding TCP’s end-of-life program.
- EOL notices will include an estimated Final Date of Support (“FDOS”) for the Product. The FDOS is the last date to receive applicable service and support as entitled by valid agreement for a Product.
- After TCP provides a public EOL notice for a Product that is a subscription service, TCP will typically no longer allow you to enroll in a subscription with a term that goes beyond the FDOS.
- When determining the FDOS, TCP will typically seek to allow for the following legacy support periods:
- Up to one (1) year of continued warranty support from the EOL notice date for any Product that is covered by the TCP Limited Warranty at such time.
- One (1) year of continued offering and support of subscription services.
- One (1) year of bug fixes, maintenance releases, workarounds or patches for critical bugs, as determined by TCP in its sole discretion, from the EOL notice date. TCP customers may be required to install newer software versions to receive any of the above continued software support.
Risk of Continued Use
One consequence of a Product reaching its FDOS is that TCP will no longer be actively monitoring for and patching new security vulnerabilities related to the Product. As a result, the continued use of Products past their FDOS carries increased risk, is discouraged by TCP and is entirely at the user’s own risk.
Security Maintenance
At least one year of security maintenance.
