TCP, Inc. Production Increased to 1.1 Million Energy-Efficient Light Bulbs Per Day

Manufacturer of compact fluorescent lamps meets the high demand for earth-friendly light bulbs enabling consumers to help slow global warming

Aurora, OH – (November 15, 2007) – TCP, Inc. is boosting the production of their compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) by 25 percent to 1.1 million per day to meet the consumer-driven demand for energy-efficient lighting. TCP manufactures 70 percent of the CFLs on the market through name brand, private label and other lighting manufacturers (OLMs), including the n:vision line for The Home Depot. In April, TCP increased CFL production to 800,000 per day. The additional increase in production is in response to consumer-driven demand for energy-efficient, environmentally friendly lighting solutions.

“Consumers are seeing how global warming is changing our world and, like TCP, they want to do their part to slow the process,” said Ellis Yan, CEO, TCP, Inc. “Replacing incandescent bulbs with CFLs is one of the easiest, most immediate ways to help.”

TCP’s CFLs use 75% less energy
than old-fashioned incandescent light bulbs and last an average of ten times longer. Consumers switching to CFLs can reduce their carbon dioxide emissions by more than 450 pounds and see an energy savings of $30 to $108 over the life of the bulb.

“TCP is committed to producing the CFLs consumers need to make a positive impact on the environment. Our production of 1.1 million high-quality CFLs per day is a sign of environmental progress,” said Yan.

The increased daily production of CFLs is estimated to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 50,000 tons per day. TCP’s production will dramatically decrease the amount of harmful greenhouse gas emissions linked to global warming.
