Associate Product Manager



This position supports the product managers and sales in efforts to grow their product line sales and margins. 

Essential Duties

  • Actively support the company’s culture and business mission by always putting TCP’s people and its customers first.
  • Adheres to and promotes TCP’s company values by performing duties in a manner that is consistent with being a team leader and supports the continued growth of the company
  • Manages item set-ups and bill of materials in a timely manner to support product launch schedules.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive product database – both lamps and fixtures.
  • Assist in training sales team & customer service. 
  • Participates in the product development process, monitoring the status of products through each stage of the development process
  • Directs and performs all aspects of product changes and development, including creating product specification sheets, coordinating compliance testing and ensuring proper product positioning
  • Introduces and markets new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
  • Reviews sales history and performance of products within category, summarizing conclusions on how products performed and communicating summary across departments.
  • Investigates lower than expected performers by regularly performing pricing and competitive analysis and establishes action plans to address them, including recommendation to rationalize products
  • Recommend strategies to improve market position, improve quality or reduce costs.
  • Manages and communicates sales information and product changes both internally and externally through respective sales channels.
  • Establishes and maintains key relationships with vendors to help facilitate the timely completion of projects and/or new products.
  • Provides strategic development of category that enhances brand image and drives profitable growth within category.
  • Represents the sales and marketing departments in group meetings, industry shows and events. 
  • Actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Other responsibilities or projects assigned by manager.

  • 1-3 years experience in technical discipline.
  • Excellent follow-up skills.
  • Must be proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills required.
  • Attention to detail and appreciation of deadlines is essential.
  • Excellent product knowledge and eagerness to continue to learn new products.
  • Light travel required.
  • Consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering or Marketing


  • Sitting for long periods of time, completing tasks using a computer and other office equipment.
  • Position requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision with moderate standing, walking and reaching.
  • May require lifting 10-25 lbs.
  • Job position responsibilities are generally performed in a business office environment with computers, printers and phones.
